Galway is a laid-back city in the West Region of Ireland which boasts a lively shopping and dining scene. That evening, the through-flowing River Corrib was a raging rapid rushing into the North Atlantic and drew large crowds to rest by its banks drinking beer. Never had I seen such a violently-flowing river through a city (only the likes of Schuylkill and Charles through Philadelphia and Boston respectively come to mind), or such a casual juxtaposition of the tumultuous and the carefree.
